Yalikavak House | Bodrum, Turkey
Mediterranean luxury at its most refined: texture, material, and light converge to create a sanctuary that feels at once intimate and effortless.
Perched on Turkey’s Turquoise Coast, this Summer Villa thoughtfully extends an old stone house, its new volumes cloaked in hand-troweled French limewash by local plaster artisans. The weathered exterior walls whisper of history, while crisp, white-washed planes introduce a calm modernity. Just steps from a magnificent marble quarry, the design celebrates an eclectic palette of nearby stones, each slab selected for its unique veining and finish and weaves them subtly through benchtops, floors, and bespoke feature furniture.
Inside, locally sourced textiles ground the interiors in place and tradition. Handwoven kilims layer the floors with artisanal pattern; breezy linen drapes filter the sunlight, softening every corner; and custom upholstery, crafted by regional ateliers, adds a quietly sumptuous touch. Against this serene canvas, the poolside and sunken lounge punctuate the composition in bold color, inviting you to pause and uncover each carefully composed detail.
This project is a study in quiet craftsmanship where every material tells a story of landscape and legacy, revealed slowly, moment by moment.
Construction to begin in 2025 September.
